CEO's Letter

Founded in May, 2001 by Chairman and CEO Mr. Simon Chen, ADATA Technology Co., Ltd. has quickly risen to become one of the world’s largest memory product providers. At the beginning, with DRAM modules as the major product line, ADATA Technology’s mission was to become “The Global Leading Brand of Memory Products.” Later on, recognizing the market’s trend, ADATA Technology diversified its product portfolio to include Flash peripherals and to capitalize on the strong growth of the Flash-based product market. With the ability to quickly develop high-quality DRAM memory and Flash memory products that meet market demand, ADATA Technology has experienced outstanding growth. Based on an May, 2009 iSuppli report, ADATA ranks second in the world for DRAM Module, seventh for USB Flash Disk and tenth for Memory Card respectively.

ADATA Technology truly understands that professionalism and innovation drive a company’s competitiveness as well as the value of its products and services in the market. ADATA Technology’s strict execution requires performing at the highest standards as it relates to ID design, purchasing and supply chain management (raw materials), manufacturing processes and quality control and testing. Through constant innovation and development of products that exceed customer expectations, ADATA Technology has won many of the most recognized international awards including Taiwan’s Symbol of Excellence and National Awards of Excellence, Japan’s G-MARK (Good Design Award), CES Innovations Awards in the US and the iF Product Design Award in Germany.

Although still a young company that was started with twenty employees less than five years ago, ADATA Technology’s founder, Mr. Simon Chen and the senior management team have extensive memory-related industry experience in manufacturing and global sales, as well as the passion and energy to instill extraordinary corporate values as the foundation of the company. These values consist of integrity, fairness, honesty, perseverance, ingenuity, harmony, love and innovation. All these factors help contribute to remarkable and consistent year-on-year revenue and profit growth, allowing ADATA Technology to achieve milestones such as the No. 1 DRAM Module Provider in Asia, a listing on Taiwan’s Over-the-Counter (OTC) stock exchange (3260), a number three ranking in Taiwan Technology’s Top 100, and recognition as one of Taiwan’s Top 20 Global Brands. These impressive results and corporate culture are now used as a benchmark for success in Taiwan’s high-tech industry.

Mr. Chen has led ADATA Technology on the right track and the company continues to hit historical highs for revenue. ADATA Technology reached NT$28,983 million (US$878 million) in revenue for 2008. Though revenue dropped 33% year over year in 2008 due to rigorous industry environment, ADATA increased its market share 18% to near 10% worldwide. Looking to the future, ADATA Technology will continue to cultivate its brand and market position to reach its goal of becoming the “Top tier Global Leading Brand of Memory Products.”
